Glen Meadows Retirement Community

This amazing senior residence was an awesome find for my dad and his companion. The complex itself is beautifully designed and built to be attractive, warm, welcoming, and ever so pleasing for residents and visitors alike. But once you are within and soaking up the beauty around you, or enjoying the fine dining (TRULY fine!), it becomes impressively apparent that it is the PEOPLE who take Glen Meadows over the top! I have often quipped, more than half seriously, that I am sure people seeking employment at Glen Meadows have to pass a superlative personality test. And IF they can prove they have amazing personalities, they are then allowed to fill out a job application. From the managers to the maintenance people, there is not one who is not smiling, accommodating, welcoming, supportive, caring, and concerned for every resident, regardless of age, abilities, or mindset. It is indeed a close-knit community and EVERYBODY is fully integrated—including family and visitors!

We found the perfect retirement community for our parents! Not only does it offer resort-style living and accommodations, but Mom and Dad will never have to be apart as they need more care. Instead, the care will come to them in their own home. The staff at Glen Meadows is a bonus and they genuinely care and look out for each resident as if they were family.

Glen Meadows is the gold standard for the independent senior living. They have thought of everything we might need or want to make life comfortable and healthy. The staff are awesome, kind and caring. Food is excellent and there are many activities available for us.

I have had experience with both living in assisted living and having a family member as a resident in assisted. My experience with Glen Meadows Senior Independent Living has been nice. Downsizing and moving is a daunting experience, but I have received a lot of help from RLC; which made it easier. Also, the staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a very warm and "family" feeling at Glen Meadows.

Glen Meadows has been a perfect fit for me. The staff are all supportive, friendly, & encouraging. The food is excellent with many choices & great salad bar. Glen Meadows has a beautiful theater and many rooms for activities, a pool table, a large library, a craft room, a puzzle room, a poker table & table games. The convenience food area is open 24 hours a day in case you miss a meal or get a late-night craving.

We love living here! We can't begin to tell you how wonderful it is to live here. No more planning, shopping, carrying it all in, putting everything away, cooking, serving, and cleaning everything up. All three meals are provided here every day along with snacks, ice cream, and popcorn. We even have prime rib every Sunday! All so awesome! We pinch ourselves every day and thank God that we are living here.

This is such a caring community, staff and residents alike. My dad and his companion moved in at the start of September and they have been SOOO happy! Dad’s family, all of us spread around the country, really appreciate the beautiful, bright, warm, welcoming and supportive community at Glen Meadows! The food, the environment, and accommodations are beyond compare!! 👍🤗❤️

My husband and I have lived at Glen Meadows for 4 months. It truly has replaced our aging home of 52 years with convenience, new friends, helpful and friendly employees, excellent food, and NO cooking! I enjoy having my laundry in the bathroom, our apartment is roomy with large walk-in closets, a full kitchen, and soundproof walls. We have a great group of friendly residents, so mealtime is social time if you want. Many varied activities are offered throughout the week, our favorites are the daily exercise classes, suited to everyone's activity level. With the healthful food choices available, the fitness room/exercise classes, and the long hallways for walking, it's easy to maintain a healthy lifestyle, even with a 24/7 ice cream machine available! We are truly thankful for our new home!

We have tried for many years to get my elderly father into an amenable senior residence, but have met tremendous resistance…until he found Glen Meadows, in West Des Moines. He is not only blissfully happy there, but his family is blissfully happy for him!!! It is billed as all inclusive resort style living for seniors. It is not an assisted-living or nursing facility, though they partner with companies who can provide that assistance in their apartments. The staff at Glen Meadows are amazingly wonderful, caring, friendly, supportive people! Although we have contracted with one of the partner agencies for in apartments assistance, the general staff all clearly like and are invested in Dad‘s, happiness, health, and safety. I cannot begin to tell you what a wonderful setting this is! The food can only be raved about, truly, and the environment is so open, bright, cheerful, beautiful, and welcoming. They have a guest apartment that can be booked for a nominal fee, for guests of residents, and I avail myself of that as often as possible…not only to visit Dad, but to indulge in all that Glen Meadows has to offer everybody!!! Love, love, LOVE this place!!! ❤️
